Whitehall Road Construction Notice
Wednesday, April 10, 2013 to Sunday, June 09, 2013: State College
Category: Community Annc
In response to community feedback from motorists and bicyclists, Ferguson Township would like to remind all who travel near Whitehall Road construction of the following safety-related items: Bicyclists may not ride in the wrong direction and must follow the directional detour route same as motorists. Motorists must have a clear 4 foot safety zone to pass bicyclists.
During Whitehall Road construction, both motorists and bicyclists can help keep the road as safe as possible by taking simple actions. Motorists can help by allowing more travel time to get to their destination and to account for slow moving vehicles (such as bikes, trucks, and farm equipment).
Bicyclists can help by pulling over and allowing traffic to pass as soon as it is safe to do so, or by taking an alternate route. Obeying the law and being considerate of all who travel the roadway will facilitate safety for bicyclists and motorists, as well as construction crews.
The Ferguson Township Police Department routinely monitors construction zone areas to ensure all travelers adhere to the law.
