YMCA of Centre County’s 10th Annual Polar Bear Plunge will be held Saturday, December 1 at the Marina Boat Ramp in Bald Eagle State Park. Registration, breakfast, bake sale and raffles begin at 10:00 am. Opening remarks will be made at 10:45 am. The Little Dippers take the water at 11:00 am and the Plunge will at 11:15 am. The Awards Ceremony takes place at 11:30 am. The Plunge is an event held by the YMCA of Centre County, the first Saturday in December, where participants enter into the water at Sayers Dam, at the Bald Eagle State Park, despite the frigid temperature. The plunge is held to raise money for the YMCA of Centre County’s Open Door program which allows the Y to turn no one away for their inability to pay.
