Photographer Sally Wiener Grotta is bringing her "Pennsylvania Hands" exhibit to the Centre county Library in Bellefonte October 4-31. “Pennsylvania Hands” (a regional focus of “American Hands”) is Sally Wiener Grotta's visual celebration of those individuals who keep alive the traditional crafts that built our state's dynamically diverse culture and established the underpinnings of our present-day society. DAR Grade 5-8 Essay Contest

The Daughters of the American Revolution is sponsoring an essay contest for Centre County students in grades 5-8. Essays must be 300-1,000 words (depending on grade level) and should focus on often unrecognized people and groups, including African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics and others who provided military, patriotic or public services in support of the American Revolution.
