The Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair, better known as "The Grange Fair," is Aug. 23 - 30, 2012 . The Grange Fair is a city within a town, as campers "move into" the Grange Park in Centre Hall, PA to live for more than a week. Come for the concerts, the rides, the amazing food, the games, and the competitions. But you'll come on back for the experience of being in one of the most uniquely friendly "hometowns" in America...at the Great Grange Fair! REMINDER: Pets are not permitted in the Grange Fairgrounds or camping area during The Grange Fair, however seeing eye dogs are permitted. The Grange Fair is the last encampment fair in the U.S. That means that during the fair, folks from all over the country converge on the Grange Fairgrounds, some with their RV's, and others as tenants of the famous Grange Fair Tents. No visit to this county fair is complete without strolling through the tent and RV areas to see the lavishly decorated "homes" of the Grange Fair! And prepare to see anything from white picket fences to grass huts!

State College Community Theatre presents James and the Giant Peach at the Boal Barn Playhouse, 197 Boal Estate Drive, Boalsburg August 23-24 with showtime at 7 p.m. and August 25 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A magical peach! You will see James (as he cleverly gets the Peach out of danger), the wise Old-Green-Grasshopper and the pessimistic Earthworm. 2012 Bellefonte Victorian Christmas Arts & Crafts Show Vendor Registration

Artists are needed for the 2012 Bellefonte Victorian Christmas Arts & Crafts Show to be held December 8th and 9th in locations in Bellefonte. Vendor Spaces vary in size. Some vendors buy two spaces for a double space. Vendors must provide their own tables and chairs. Attendance is required both Saturday and Sunday. Indicate on the application if you need electric outlets. Please bring your own extension cords. Some areas have no lighting outlets. We cannot guarantee that you will have access to power. Please note that items that are unusually creative receive higher consideration from the selection committee. Please, only hand crafted items. New applicants should include photos. Please do not submit an application if you and your assistants are unwilling to dress in Victorian costume both days. For women, long skirts and lacy blouses will do, while for men, dark trousers, vest and a ribbon tie are appropriate. The NEXUS Pen Pal Program for Bald Eagle Elementary students and Centre County adults is searching for participants. The goals of the program include reading and writing skill development, graduation rate improvement, and higher education inspiration. The benefits include receiving a letter from a child seven times throughout the year and getting to meet that child at the end of the year. Adult letters may be emailed.
